In May a Fairfax County jury returned a verdict of $2 million to a woman who was injured after two teenagers driving separate vehicles at a high rate of speed struck her on the Fairfax County Parkway. The defendants admitted liability but contested the amount of damages. The medical bills in the case exceeded $100,000 and the plaintiff had lost wages in excess of $1 million.

Since the accident the plaintiff had not been able to return to work and was not able to participate in extreme
sports such as windsurfing and skiing (which she had done before.)
