We may be getting closer to a ban on all cell phone use while driving. The National Transportation Safety Board has come out with a recomendation that bus drivers be banned from using a cell phone while driving except in an emergency.

The report recomendation is that:

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the 50 States and District of Columbia prohibit CDL holders with a passenger-carrying or school bus endorsement from using cell phones while driving those vehicles, except in emergencies. The Board also recommended that the bus associations develop formal policies for their members containing the same proscriptions.

We agree. Cell phones are a major distraction and are probably a substantial cause of death, injury and property damage. If it's that important, pull over.
