The Washington Post is reporting this morning that two of the most seriously injured victims of the Vienna, Virginia fireworks horror are on the path to recovery. We hope that young Max Hollis and his mother, Kathryn, continue to recover.

Each year thousands of people are injured from fireworks on and around July 4. While most injuries do not occur at major fireworks displays, the folks who do get hurt at public displays are often more seriously injured because of the power of the fireworks.

While the investigation into the Vienna fireworks incident continues, it certainly seems that there may be claims and lawsuits filed against the city, the fireworks company who was in charge of the display, and, perhaps, the manufacture of the fireworks. While Virginia has a general two year statute of limitations for injuries caused by fireworks, the time for filing a claim with government officials may be shorter.
